Suddenly, the front of the dinghy lifted, and the small craft took off through the water like a jet boat, heading straight out to sea. The force of the commotion caused Nana to topple backwards and her moko to fall forwards. The trio ended up with their legs in the air.
‘What’s going on?’ Nana cried, fighting to stop herself from falling about as the boat banged and bounced along the top of the waves.
