An account of the great Maori rangatira of Ngati Toa, Te Rauparaha, venerated by many and at times reviled. Detailing his life and exploits from 1770 to his death in 1849, this biography was written in te reo Maori by his son, Tamihana te Rauparaha, in 1869.
Published for the first time in a bilingual Maori/English edition, translated and edited by a descendant of te Rauparaha, Ross Calman.
