The soldiers of B Company, nicknamed "The Penny Divers", came mainly from Te Arawa and the Mātaatua tribes but also included men from the Hauraki district. They fought in more engagements and received more decorations than any other company of the Māori Battalion. Wira Gardiner tells the story of B Company of the 28th Maori Battalion, from its formation in 1940 to the return of the last soldiers to New Zealand in 1946.
Illustrated with hundreds of photographs and specially commissioned maps, this book is part of the 28 th Maori Battalion company histories series.
